We're very proud to have, once again, sponsored the RMIT University to undertake the Australian Family and Private Business Survey. The survey, the eighth in the series, is the longest running study of its type in Australia and provides a vital snapshot into the motivations, concerns and issues facing family business owners.
This initiative, which is widely regarded as the most authoritative piece of research on this sector, was extensively referred to in the recent Federal Government's Joint Parliamentary Committee enquiry into family business in Australia. The results make fascinating reading on issues concerning private and family businesses, what keeps you awake at night and how you are managing the many challenges that are thrown out by government, regulatory authorities, the economy and life in general.
We believe this data is vital to bring the issues you are facing to the notice of media and government because there is very little information collected by the ABS on this sector. The voice of family and privately owned businesses in Australia is fragmentary – this is one way we can make it heard.
