“Like most businesses, we have a lot of moving parts,” says Rodney Grunseit, CEO of Sunshades Eyewear.

With a 45-year history, Sunshades Eyewear has grown from a small-scale supplier of unbranded sunglasses to an international licensor and distributor of fashion eyewear. They sell more than 3 million pairs of sunglasses in over 30 countries, all while relying on a staff of just over 100 people.

“With our unprecedented phase of expansion in the late 2010s, I knew that we needed more than accounting and tax compliance support. We needed someone who would be more of a partner. Someone we could rely on for a range of business issues,” Rodney adds.

Sunshades Eyewear were introduced to MGI Sydney through a referral. The relationship stuck and Sunshades has been an MGI client for 12 years now. MGI assists them with a host of matters from asset protection and growth to personal finance matters considering the multigenerational nature of the family-run business.

“MGI also played a huge role when we wanted to expand overseas,” Rodney says. With support from Matthew, Melissa and the team, Sunshades Eyewear achieved their international vision, relying on strategic advice from other MGI offices around the world, including Los Angeles.

“As our business keeps growing and expanding, we know we have a safe pair of hands to rely on,” Rodney concludes.
